Shaak

In Gujarati, Shaak literally means vegetables. In India, a very traditional meal consists of a portion of veggies known as shak, in Gujarati; or sabji, in Hindi. To prepare, vegetable oil (or any oil of choice) is heated and mixed with a blend of spices. Then, an assortment of veggies are fried in the tempered oil and spice mix. Here are a few recipes we cook in our own home regularly. Give them a try!
